[ good call, because she does find the right one. he calls, still sounding a little hoarse -- ]
Just a second. [ -- before he gets up and hobbles over to open the door. he's changed into his funky space clothes again, and looks... a little tired, but at least decidedly less bloody than he did an hour or so ago! xie lian gives her a smile, and a small, polite bow of his head. ]
Yes. I'm sorry for making you answer the door by yourself... [Now she feels bad.] I wanted to make sure you were alright, and that someone had taken care of you.
[ xie lian smiles, a little sheepish, and gives a wave of his hand. ] It’s quite alright: I’m not bleeding or anything, and I always recover quite quickly. Would you like to come in?
anyway! he steps aside to let yoshizawa in! his room isn't particularly exciting. his bed's marked by his hat hanging on that side of the room, and a doll of a lovely lady sits on his small table.
xie lian goes to settle down on the bed, giving her a little smile. ]
[ haha. god he does nothing but freak you out yoshizawa i'm so sorry. ]
Ah...well, I suppose it's more so relieving that it's simply something to bounce back from. At this point, I barely feel it - it's an inconvenience more than anything else.
[ that he can't protect anyone - now that is troublesome. ] I'm glad that it was me who was put through it, at any rate.
... I suppose that's one way to see it. [Something to bounce back from.] Honestly, I'd prefer none of you were put through that. May I ask what happened?
...It was quite strange. I was just walking in one place, and then, I took a step, and was suddenly in another place entirely, with the others. We were separated almost immediately; Won and I were together, and we went to a room with two strange chairs, as if it were waiting for us. We sat, and the... I suppose the screen? Told us that were were going to have to fight monsters, so the both of us said "yes", we would.
Only... [ his brow furrows a little. ] ...Well, we didn't do much monster fighting, at least not physically. [ despite. everything. gestures. ] I'm not sure what you may have heard from the others, comparatively.
[ he's really touched!! xie lian is still unused to having people do such little gestures of kindness for him, even after all this time in the realm... the smile he gives her is a little helpless, but no less warm for it, as he lets yoshizawa lead him off to go sit. ]
[She smiles and leads the way! Though, once he's seated, she doesn't exactly join him. Instead, she clasps her hands together.]
Then, regarding what I said earlier. I spoke to Soo-won-san and Archer-san, so... [And then she bows, briefly but politely.] Thank you so much for all your work!
[ IT IS REALLY HARD TO SAVE SCAPEGOATS BELIEVE ME HE TRIED
xie lian blinks, for a moment, staring at her, his eyes wide.
this is exactly what got him punched, earlier. that he'd failed at saving someone. xie lian had taken the hit with no intention to fight back, no complaints, and he would've taken more, because he felt the guilt more personally than anyone could really imagine. every failure has stacked on his shoulders like weights.
only one of the people he saved is aware of his power - the other is not, and if they never find out, then that's fine, too. xie lian is just glad to have helped, to have been able to do something, to try and stop the endless cycle of death in the realm.
but to be thanked for it, is...
...his expression softens into something touched, and he bows his head. ]
...I am, yes. [
people are so kind, sometimes. these are the kind of things he never forgets. ] ...I wasn't able to do it as well as I would have liked, but... I am glad, that I was able to do something. There is nothing to thank me for.
...I did try. [ he always tries, doesn't he? and it's rarely good enough - usually, when he tries, xie lian ends up just making things worse, and this time was rarely different, but... he won a few victories, in the end. ]
Your words mean a lot to me, Miss Yoshizawa. Thank you.

I... was told by Soo-won-san that you died. Not once, but twice. Is that...?
week seven, friday.
Anyway, she's running into him in the kitchen! And beaming at him, so relieved to see him again.]
Xie Lian-san! [Hewwo.] Are you occupied?
no subject
but, ah!! when sumi runs up to him, xie lian has a smile for her, genuine, as he bows his head in greeting. he has a black eye? he's fine. ]
Miss Yoshizawa... how nice it is to see you. [ are you gonna hit him too ] What is it?
no subject
I— [Wait. Suddenly noticing the eye and gasping. Oh, no.] —Are you okay?! Your eye...!
no subject
Hm? Oh. [ he reaches up, and touches briefly under the bruised spot, then smiles, a little helplessly, waving his hand. it's fine, it's fine... ]
It's nothing, don't worry - it doesn't hurt. What is it?

[ he will allow this fussing, then, stepping out of the way to let her do whatever she needs to get him ice, very touched by this sweet gesture. ]
